Mazamir Yousefi

Mazamir Yousefi is a lawyer, professor and passionate leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), dedicated to creating equitable systems and processes that drive real change within the legal industry. With a clear vision for DEI, she works to cultivate workplaces where every individual knows that their path to success is open and that their potential is determined by their talent, not their background. Mazamir strives to build environments where diversity is not only celebrated but woven into the fabric of organizational culture, enabling everyone to thrive.

Drawing from her background as a lawyer, Mazamir brings a deep institutional understanding of law firms and their unique needs, challenges, and priorities. This legal experience allows her to navigate complex organizational structures and policies, ensuring that DEI initiatives are both practical and impactful. She is skilled in embedding DEI principles across practice groups, talent development functions, and operational frameworks to create lasting change. Throughout her career, Mazamir has successfully managed multi-million dollar budgets, driving large-scale DEI initiatives with a focus on measurable outcomes. 

Prior to her current role, Mazamir served as a Senior Litigation & Trial Associate at a major international law firm, where she represented Fortune 500 companies in securities litigation, shareholder derivative litigation, SEC enforcement actions, and complex commercial litigation. She is also a lecturer at UC Irvine, where she teaches a course on trial advocacy. 

Mazamir received her law degree from USC Gould School of Law, where she competed on the National Trial Team and was a two-time recipient of the American College of Trial Lawyers’ Medal for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. She received her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Relations (with an emphasis in Middle Eastern history and politics) from UC Irvine.
