Bita Kianian

Bita Kianian is an intellectual property attorney currently serving in Red Bull’s Intellectual Property division, where she specializes in trademark law, brand protection, and enforcement strategies. In her role, she helps safeguard Red Bull’s global brand portfolio, ensuring its trademarks remain protected across industries and jurisdictions.

Before joining Red Bull, Bita was an Associate at Knobbe, Martens, Olson & Bear, LLP, where she worked extensively in trademark prosecution, enforcement, and litigation. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, allowing her to develop strategic IP solutions for businesses navigating complex brand protection challenges.

Bita’s passion for intellectual property law began early in her career. With a background in business, economics, and fashion design, she was drawn to the creative side of branding and innovation. During her studies, she worked with designers and brand owners who struggled to protect their intellectual property, fueling her desire to specialize in trademark law.

During law school, Bita gained hands-on experience through an internship at a boutique IP law firm and a clinical program focused on trademark law, which helped her secure a summer associate position at Knobbe Martens. She later transitioned to in-house practice at Red Bull, where she combines her expertise in IP law with business strategy to support the company’s global brand protection efforts.

Bita’s contributions to the field have been widely recognized. In 2020, she was awarded the Tomorrow’s Leader Award by the International Trademark Association (INTA), honoring her early leadership and impact in the IP profession. She is passionate about mentorship, diversity in the legal field, and staying ahead of emerging trends in digital branding and artificial intelligence in IP law.

As a Board Member of IABA-OC, Bita is committed to fostering professional development, mentorship, and community engagement within the Iranian-American legal community. She is dedicated to helping young attorneys navigate the evolving landscape of IP law and in-house legal practice.

When she’s not working on trademark enforcement or legal strategy, Bita enjoys exploring global branding trends, attending IP law conferences, and staying engaged with the latest developments in business and technology.
